The film is about the destinies of the women who have spent their best years in the terrible country, known as Algeria – such is the abbreviated name of Akmolinsky Camp of the Wives of the Traitors of the Native land in Russian. The ruthless machine of the Stalin’s terror milled lives not only of those who had been sentenced, but also of those who guarded them.
Eighty-year-old actress Oksana Kozmina goes to «the 26th point of Karlag» to meet her past. In the film the memoirs of the former prisoners, the security guards, the camp commander Barinov and his assistant Juzipenko are heard, rare chronicle materials are used.
