On one of the biggest lakes of Kareliya there are over seventy minor islands. Rocky islands from green and red marble, huge ones (with the taiga, bogs and small lakes inside) and absolutely tiny ones, with only several trees on them, rare pictures of the life of waterfowls, the severe and bewitching beauty of the Russian North in combination with fauna shots create the exciting sensation of the celebration of a life. And, only traces of man on these islands cause alarm: a gone to pieces log hut, with a lop-sided roof and dead wood at the coast, as consequence, built fifty years ago and left in neglect today, water basins...
